One of our biggest challenges yet involved the transformation of former outbuildings and pig sheds into a modern new home.
The combination of original stone exterior and super-modern interior living solution was the perfect balance the customer was looking for.
Project overview
We accepted the challenge and began by clearing the outbuildings and excavating to the necessary depths for foundation work.
Due to the limited height of the existing buildings, we had to increase the height of the stonework at a high level and create a new stone kitchen and utility extension at the rear. Our specialist stone bricklayers happily took on this challenge.
Once the new and altered stonework was complete, we installed a slate roof before starting the internal work. We maintained regular communication with the customer to design and deliver the home they wanted. We followed specific briefs and exchanged ideas throughout the project until we finished all the internal fittings to the highest standards, transforming the barn into something truly remarkable.
The new home features a link bridge through the main living area and underfloor heating throughout via an air source heat system.
